How great is the great attachment for lifting that we built in this course? How many times can it lift the robot without making an error? How great are your attachments and how could you test them? - the answer is simple. Just try 10 times and they should work at least 9 of them as our attachment is.

Reproducible behaviour

Your goal with building any of your attachments should be to have a reproducible behaviour of this attachment and the robot that it is placed on. This is the way to guarantee your win at FIRST LEGO League, World Robotics Olympiad or other robotics competitions. 10 out of 10 is perfect. If you reach 9 out of 10 it is still ok.

Robot Lifting Attachment With a scissors mechanism

For the FIRST LEGO League 2016-2017 Animal Allies we prepared an attachment for lifting the robot. The idea of the attachment is to show how you could lift the whole robot with a system of gear wheels, levers, and scissors constructions.

Built mainly from LEGO Mindstorms EV3 parts but could probably be constructed from NXT sets.

We've built a great attachment for our Box Robot that can lift and attach the robot to the mission model. One of the very important tests for each of the attachments and for each of the programs is to make it work 9 out of 10 times. So, let's do this test for our simple model here.

As a result we have an attachment that works 10 out of 10 times. That's the goal that you should have. If we have the time, probably we can continue and it will do 100 from 100 or 1000 from 1000. We don't have the time and probably it won't be very interesting for anybody to watch. The idea is to have attachments that work in a reproducible way that can always expect the same behavior for this attachment.
