There are a few main challenges with box robots and in the following tutorial we would like to resolve them. Read on and let's see how we could do this.
This construction uses a differential. Both wheels could turn with different speed and this makes a construction much more stable when turning.
We keep the robot orientation straight while moving, but when we stop the robot could be in a different orientation. This applies for both using the Mindstorms Gyro Sensor when moving straight or the Mindstorms Color sensor when following a line. In this video tutorial, we will do a few examples of when an how this could happen.
Arriving at a final solution. There is still room for improvement on using the Mindstorms Ultrasonic Sensor for aligning to walls, but we hope the whole five videos could give you a good idea of how to start with a problem and reach a solution.
Not all LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robot should be aligned horizontally or vertically. It is quite possible to have the brick and the motors attached in such a way that the robot is at a certain angle.
This is a very useful small construction that could be used as a base and extended with hands and heads or other interesting ....robot body parts.
A collection of MyBlocks, that help you use the Turtle robot. The MyBlocks used are the following:
FollowCourse: Makes the turtle rotate, until it reaches the course it uses. If it's already on it, this MyBlock makes the turtle go forward. It uses the power you set it on.
PickNewCourse: Makes the turtle pick a new course.
HideInShell: Makes the turtle hide in its shell for the designated amount of seconds.
CurrentAndDesiredCourse: Displays the Current course and the course it wants on the display of the robot.
Careful: Gyro Sensor port in this program is port 3. Check your cables when you run this program.
NOTE: The program contains my blocks, that will appear broken if you use any version before 1.3.0 of the EV3 Mindstorms Software
Sometimes, it may happen that the value passed to a switch statement block does not match any of the foreseen cases. Which case of the switch is going to be executed? None? The first one?
The program that Nightbeast team use for their second Run in FLL Into Orbit Challange. In this run they tries to make missions M10–Food Production, M12–Satellite Orbits and Move the Cone Module to base. But this program should be upgraded.
