This is an example of a robot for Sumo Robotics competitions. Specifically for RoboteX challenge. As most of the Sumo competitions have specific requirements for the robot size this one follows the 15cm x 15cm requirements.
Sumo competitions could be quite fun and interesting as the goal is to push the other robot outside of the ring.
This LEGO Mindstorms robot base is small, compact and packed in a very small volume. The goal of this constructions is to be used as a base and to show yet another way to experiment with adding motors to the brick.
During the FIRST LEGO League competition you can hardly use the sound block, because of the noise from the excitement around the tables, but it has a few interesting applications. I this video lesson I will show you how to use the sound block and build a program that makes the robot say which color it sees.
The GorillaBot walks on its two arms, using two large motors as forearms. It also has this awesome head, which actually is pretty useless as an ultrasonic sensor, unless you lift its eyebrows.
