Precision

The goal of this robot is to fire balls. That's it. But the balls could have different diameters. The size the of the ball could be different. To successfully fire a ball you must have both tires grip the ball at the same time. If the distance between the tires is to short the ball won't pass. If it is too large, the tires will not be able to "grip" the ball. And this here is a problem.

LEGO Units

The size of one lego brick is 0.8 by 0.8 mm. It is not a centimetre.  Ten lego units are 8 cm. It is impossible to build something that has a length or width of 5.54 cm for example. LEGO bricks just do not allow this. You also have a fixed amount of gear wheel with a limited set of diameters and gear wheels. Question is how could you build the construction in such a way that the space between the tires is exactly the length that you need. This is what we are trying to show with this robot.
