moreLEGO Education SPIKE Prime is a LEGO robotics set released in 2020 following the great success of LEGO Mindstorms EV3 between 2013 and 2020. SPIKE Prime comes in two main sets - 45678 and Expansion Set. The sets include a brick, sensors, motors and many new and interesting LEGO parts. A big change from EV3 is that the set is much more colorful and the shape of the motors make them much easier to work with.
LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot can be programmed with Scratch and with Python. Generally we recommend the use of Scratch as the Python programs are much more challenging to get working..
Below you could find resources to help you get up to speed with LEGO Education SPIKE Prime. These are also resources suitable to help rookie team members get up to speed with the team.

moreTwo of the main competitions in which you could participate with LEGO Education SPIKE Prime are FIRST LEGO League and World Robot Olympiad. There are also many other regional competitions for Sumo and Line Following where SPIKE Prime robots could be used. If you have the set you could prepare on your own or join a team.
FIRST LEGO League competitions allow the use of almost all LEGO Parts, not just SPIKE Prime. This is important as you could purchase additional LEGO parts for a really low price from marketplaces like Bricklink and significantly increase the number of complex attachments and robots that you could use on the competition. If you have only a SPIKE Prime set we’ve prepared a couple of courses that use only the SPIKE Prime sets, but if you want to design and use complex LEGO robots & attachments that cover a variety of topics and demonstrate advanced concepts we advise you to explore all the attachments from all different LEGO sets including EV3, NXT, Technic, Robot Inventor as there are extremely good ideas that will help your team advance to the next competition rounds.

Online courses require a lot of time and effort to join, participate, move through all the videos and lectures. We’ve learned that most people don’t have time for this and we’ve built many “How to Tutorials” on different topics that would help you find an answer in about 5 minutes. There are lessons on Line Following, moving in a straight line with the robot and building specific attachments for dropping, lifting, pushing, pulling.

Have fun and learn at home with your child. By enrolling in the “Stay @ Home SPIKE Prime” course you can pick a new robot and program each week, build something new and have a lot of fun. Or you can just build a robot, without programming - we leave this up to you.
It is not very common to use LEGO Education SPIKE Prime for home as it is part of the educational series of LEGO and is distributed only to teachers. There is a similar set called LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor that is distributed in the retail network and is more commonly used for end clients.

LEGO Education SPIKE Prime could be used outside of Competitions and could be used for LEGO Summer Camps and After class activities. The goal with these classes is different from a competition as they generally are conducted over a longer period of time and don’t focus on accomplishing a mission and winning points, but on understanding robotics, math and science concepts by presenting them from many different angles.
