How do you synchronise the two levers to move with the same speed, but in opposite directions?

The two levers of this VEX IQ robot attachment are designed to hit the ball in the same moment. They must move in sync and there is only one motor. We are using a system of two gear wheels to make them move in sync, but in opposite directions. Any even number of gear wheel results in the driving and the driven gear wheel move in opposite directions.
