FLL 2022: Deliver - 10 out of 10 on how to accomplish M09 Dinosaur Toy, M13 Power-to-X, M01 Innovation Project Model Pro Preview

In this video tutorial we accomplish 3 missions from FIRST LEGO League 2022-2023 SUPER POWERED competition and we do it 10 out of 10 times. We successfully deliver the three object to 2 different places on the field. It is interesting that we have to carry the dinosaur toy from one side of the field to the other.

In this video tutorial, we accomplish three missions, three delivery missions from the FIRST LEGO League, the SUPERPOWERED, and we do it 10 out of 10. This first mission is the Dinosaur. We have to bring it from one side of the field to the other, and we have to put the energy units in the circle center and the innovation project. These are three missions, 10 out of 10. Let's start. We start from base and we reach the center of the field. This will repeat ten times, so I can save us a lot of time here by just sharing that this successfully repeats, and it is a very consistent and reliable robot that manages to get all of the ten runs. But there are a couple of things that I want to share about this robot. First thing that you can see is the front side of the robot and the attachment. It's the Chain Monster robot, and it has an interesting attachment at the front. We've changed the attachment a little bit from the previous tutorial where we just recorded a single run and we explained how the robot behaves. What we've done here is something more. We've changed two of the pins on the front side of the attachment, because what was happening is right here: when the robot was moving back, it was catching some of the energy units and it was bringing them back outside. So, we've changed that. Previously, we had these black pins. And, when we were returning back, they were getting the energy unit out of the circle. So, we changed that by replacing the pins with these claws that we have. These claws won't allow the energy units to escape when we rotate the robot. In the same time, when the robot moves back, they don't catch the energy units. And in this way, we have the complete points. This was an interesting revelation, and we only found out about it while we were recording the 10 out of 10. So we stopped, demonstrated. We show you how we've changed the attachment from the previous tutorial. And I believe this is the current version of the attachment at FLLCasts.com where you can go and see the instructions for this attachment. It's a pinless attachment, of course. It's easy to put it at the front of the robot. Quite a consistent behavior from the whole robot. The dinosaur toy is not attached in any particular way. It is just sitting on the robot, and that's it. The goal of the mission is to bring the dinosaur from one side to the other side. And that's the whole lot! We've seen teams accomplish this mission in many different ways, some quite interesting, I must say. We thought that this is as simple as possible. There is enough space on the Chain Monster to just put the dinosaur on top. The innovation project. The Innovation, you know, is a repeatable mission from the last couple of years. So, it's interesting that LEGO provides this mission. It gives a chance to build something, to construct something. This innovation mission model that you have to assemble from some spare parts that are left on the field. And the third part of these three missions that we are accomplishing here are the energy units. Again, it's a mission where we deliver. We deliver three different mission models. And this is a good strategy to group the delivery in a single run, which is possible because most of the time when you have to deliver things, you have to deliver them to one, two, three places on the field. I think this was the 9th run. All of them successful, all of them quite easy to accomplish.

Let's see. Last run. That's it. Consistent and reliable Chain Monster with a good attachment at the front of the robot that allows us to deliver different models to different places on the field. Hope this is helpful and I'll see you in the next tutorial.
