The name of the game? Football!

This Kick the ball attachment for Tricky - the Mindstorms 51515 Robot Inventor smallest robot - is one of our favorites. Imagine a LEGO robot playing football. It is dribbling through the center of the field, it enters the box, it strikes and... goooooooal. What a fun game to play at home, if you decide to build Tricky with this kicking attachment. Aptly named for it’s “trick shots” with the included Mindstorms/Duplo ball. After you're ready with the construction of this robot, you'll find the instructions for building the goal frame below.

Zatter is the big brother of Zat and Zatty. Zatter is here to take the load. It has a large container on its back, suitable for placing different toys inside and playing with them. Built from LEGO SPIKE Core set 45678 + LEGO SPIKE Expansion Set 45680 it was designed by my wife and just slightly improved by me and my colleagues. We spend a good hour or two with the kids placing different plush toys and playing with it.

Play time for a week: About an hour

Zatty is the smaller sibling if Zat. Zatty is small and cute. It's a car on a frame with 4 small wheels and of course two mini figures riding in it or on it. Built from LEGO SPIKE Core set 45678 + LEGO SPIKE Expansion Set 45680 it was designed by my 7 years old daughter and then slightly improved by me and the colleagues.

Play time for a week: About an hour

This robot looks a bit weird. Can you guess why? The motors are placed in opposite directions. One of the motors is facing "forward" while the other one is facing "backwards". This means that if you tell both motors to rotate forward the robot will just rotate! To make the robot move forward, you will need to make one of the motors rotate forward and the other one - backwards.

The goal of this robot is to teach students that motors could be placed in many different ways. It is not always the case that the two motors face the same direction and this needs to be accounted for during programming.

The robot is named after the South Pole–Aitken basin, the largest impact crater in the Solar System that has been discovered on the far side of the Moon.

Astronauts, prepare to enter lunar orbit! This robot comes equipped with a stand that can hold a camera or a phone in order to take a picture of the far side of the moon. If your phone or camera does not fit, the stand can be easily modified to suit your needs. With its two motors, Aitken can make both wide and narrow circles around the Moon to ensure the perfect shot!

Instructions for building a LEGO truck. We use a medium motor for steering and a large motor for driving one of the rear wheels.

An awesome ski-jet robot, steering with a medium motor and powered by a single large motor. It also has a pair of inclined treads, making it especially well-suited for the harsh winter terrain.

*There is a mistake in this robot you will have to find. How would you make it work?

Building instructions for the Formula 1 Racing Car, built with LEGO Mindstorms EV3. It can turn with the help of a small motor and is driven by two large ones.

Dwell is a car built with a LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 set. It uses the medium motor for powering the back wheel and one more medium motor for rotating the front wheels and thus turning. Of course, there is a differential at the back.  

This one is also fast. It has assistant wheels, but only to keep the balance. It is built with LEGO Mindstorms EV3 sets with the use of one additional Medium Motor.

Building instructions for an EV3 LEGO Mindstorms Dump Truck. The back of the truck can be tilted through controlling the medium EV3 motor so that the load can be dumped at a desired location. Also, the robot has a color sensor to determine the type of load it is carrying. 

Winter might be far away or it might just be coming - depending of course on where you are in the world. But you can always spend a few hours having fun with a LEGO Mindstorms Snowmobile. A really challenging construction that requires good preparation, concentration and a lot of efforts to complete. Same is going to the mountain in the winter. But the reward at the end is worth it. 

We love tanks. You love tanks. Everybody loves tanks. Well, not exactly - more like everybody loves machines with chain treads because they are interesting, not that common, very easy to build and could tackle a lot of obstacles.

Building instructions for a LEGO Truck. The robot is presented as an Ammo Truck but it can be used for transporting various other objects, too. The construction has a rear drive with each of the rear wheels driven by a Large Lego Motor. The front wheels steer using a Medium Lego Motor. The Brick is placed at the front of the construction which gives the opportunity to easily attach different sensors, based on the task. 

Let's go fast. Large wheels on the back. A lot of torque, small wheels on the front, good aerodynamics. Here we go.

These are building instructions for a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Drag Car. 

Building instructions for a LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Motorcycle, but this time with helper wheels. The helper wheels solve the problem of making turns with the robot. If the robot loses balance it will fall. The goal of the helper wheels is to make it easier for the robot to turn. Small modification, but really make a difference.

Building instructions for a LEGO EV3 Robo-tank. The construction is incredibly simple, with an upright Brick, which makes it perfectly suitable for lessons with students.

"You need to step on three points to be stable". This is something you could directly see after building this marvellous, 270+ steps, extremely interesting Motorcycle with a side cart. Yes, we are proud of it. The robot is suitable for using it at home. The instructions for building it contain more than 270+ steps so it is a test for endurance, concentration, passion. The same way driving a motorcycle is. 

Or you could just step into the cart, drive along and enjoy the view while someone else is building the robot. Like a sibling or a parent.

This robot is for learning at home when you have time and energy. It is like having a motorcycle on your own - you spend a lot of time working on your motorcycle, you love it, it takes care, it takes patience. This robot has 300 steps in the building instructions. We've heard a lot of parents with students telling stories how their student could build anything from LEGO on their own. This motorcycle with a cart surely would be a challenge for them.
