The force sensor is one way our robot can sense the world around it. The sensor itself is something like a weighing machine, which instead of being very wide, for our whole body, is just one axle.

The robot can use such a sensor as a button, to sense when someone has pressed it or when it has bumped into something. If it needs more precision, it can also measure the force of a push or a touch.
