The lesson ends with a short discussion on “What did we do today” and “how we did it”. The main reason for this activity is that the students get used to use the new terms learned in a lesson. If they have hard time to explain in class what they just did, they will be unable to tell what happened at home or in school.

At the end of a lesson robots need to be disassembled and parts need to be sorted in place. That takes about 15 minutes and that time must always be considered. If students disassemble quickly and all parts are sorted well and checked by a teacher, a discussion may fill the remaining minutes. The activity of sorting parts is not to be neglected for two reasons. It trains students traits that can be used at home and it keeps LEGO sets in order. In the first few lessons students will try to cheat sorting parts responsibly, but a tough teacher checking every tray in every set will change student’s attitude quickly.

You can say that your classes are going great when you hear the question “What are we going to do next time?” from your students.
