Luly is a new STEAM competition robot from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime. We would use in some of the courses. It's simple, it requires a really small number of parts and we can demonstrate most of the attachments and programs with it. The story goes like this. Two engineers meet at a bar (or on discord during the pandemic) discussing which robot to use for this year's FIRST LEGO League 2020 Replay Solution and Review with explanations. They started their cameras, had a hot Carolina Reaper, had an argument, hugged each other, and decided to build Gazon, and use this new robot for the competition. So here it is. Small, 4 motors, 2 color sensors, stable, light.

In the LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor set there is only one color sensor. The original Gazon is build from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime where there are two light sensors. The idea behind this robot is to be able to build it from Robot Inventor and to use it during FIRST LEGO League competitions
After the success of the original Gazon robot from LEGO Education SPIKE Prime, we've decided the build a similar robot, but from LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor 51515. Teams are participating in the FIRST LEGO League competition with a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor set and we know it will be helpful. But this robot can not be build from a LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor 51515 as the set has only one Color sensor. We've build a version of the Gazon robot to address this specific limitation.
With this LEGO Education SPIKE Prime attachment we accomplish the basketball mission from the FIRST LEGO League 2020 RePlay competition. The goal of the mission is to put the ball into the basket and to have the basket up at the end of the round. This is a complex attachment. It uses gear wheels and warm gears to transfer the power from the motor to the top of the attachment. At the top of the attachment there is a wheel with a rope. The rope is build with LEGO Education SPIKE Prime parts. If you have the chance, use a different LEGO rope, but if you don't that this one will be ok.

This is a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot attachment for accomplishing the FIRST LEGO League 2020 Replay Boccia mission . The attachment is designed for Gazon, LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot.. With this attachment we follow the line with the robot until we reach the team mission and we use the lever on the top to push the blue box. Then we follow the line to reach the Boccia mission, and three things happen: 1. align to the mission model with the front of the attachment, 2. turn the lever to release the green boxes and 3. move the lever to push on the mission model. This is a complex mission requiring a lot of coordination from the robot. Quite interesting I must say.
