This video tutorial is about a detachable attachment. In various FIRST LEGO League competitions there are missions that could be accomplished with an attachment and when you accomplish the mission you must somehow leave the attachment along with the mission model. Probably as a support - most of the time it is as a support. But we've seen some pretty powerful concepts that include things like leaving a clock mechanism that will continue to work for 30 seconds accomplishing the mission.

In this video tutorial we demonstrate a Grab attachment build from LEGO Mindstorms Robot Inventor 51515 set. The goal of the grab attachment is to accomplish the mission of bringing loops back to base without loosing or dropping them when returning. The principle of the grab attachment also demonstrates how to have a a locking mechanism. In this way there is not way to the loop to escape.

It all started with the famous 2017 mission for flipping a manhole and it was one of our favorite missions ever. Here in this tutorial we demonstrate the same principle of flipping a part from one side to the other. Sounds interesting, yes it is, yes it is.

In this 10 out of 10 tutorial, we accomplish the Platooning Trucks from FIRST LEGO League (FLL) 2021-2022. The goal of the mission is to connect the trucks to each other and both of them to the bridge. The attachment and the robot pushes the trucks and we do it 10 times to see the consistency and reliability of the robot.

This video tutorial focuses on accomplishing M05 Angler Fish, M09 Unexpected Encounter, collecting samples for M14 Sample Collection, 3 Krill for M12 Feed the Whale, and Reef Segments for M03 Coral Reef of the FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025 SUBMERGED Challenge using the Nautiq box robot (a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot). The run achieves a perfect 10 out of 10 score across these missions in one continuous sequence.

The robot collects and delivers samples, gathers krill and reef segments, pushes the Unknown Creature into the Cold Seep, and engages mission models with precision. This video tutorial focuses on accomplishing M15 Research Vessel of the FIRST LEGO League 2024-2025 SUBMERGED Challenge using the Nautiq box robot (a LEGO Education SPIKE Prime robot). The run uses a pinless attachment designed to push the ship loaded with cargo to its destination. After the previous run, the hook part is removed and replaced with a locking component that holds the ship securely during transport.

The locking mechanism uses friction pins to keep the ship stable until it reaches its destination, where it can then be released smoothly. This approach ensures the cargo remains secure throughout the journey while allowing for safe delivery and quick unloading at the final position.
