Based on feedback from many of you in this episode I would like to show you how to build an active attachment that changes the orientation of a gear wheel placed vertically to a gear wheel placed horizontally. This attachment could be used in competitions and shows a basic principle of changing the orientation. All attachments could follow the same principle. 

Five different robot chassis. This is the goal of the series. To present ideas for different design of the robots and especially the robot bases. If the base is stable and balanced, then in could easily be extended. Let's start with the most simple of the five. 

Construct two legs for both sides of the robot. The task for this video is to attach this two legs on both sides and to build a system of gears and axles that power those legs.

We keep the robot orientation straight while moving, but when we stop the robot could be in a different orientation. This applies for both using the Mindstorms Gyro Sensor when moving straight or the Mindstorms Color sensor when following a line. In this video tutorial, we will do a few examples of when an how this could happen.

In this video tutorial we would look at the mission run for M06. SPACE STATION MODULES. The missions is to precisely push a mission model into an opening. In almost any FIRST LEGO League competition there are such missions. The tutorial contains only the mission run on the field. We accomplish a single mission. 

The M08. AEROBIC EXERCISE is one of the very common types of mission in FIRST LEGO League robotics competitions. I think this pattern of missions was first introduced with the growing abilities of the participating students that were constantly reaching the maximum number of points. So the competition introduced mission that require a lot of time - 20-30 seconds, are time consuming and are complex. They requires a lot of moves. Reusable attachments are our favorite. They could be used in a number of different scenarios especially on robotics competitions like FIRST LEGO League/World Robotics Olympiad. This tutorial shows how this reusable attachment could accomplish a mission for lifting a lever. It uses Luly, a small LEGO Education SPIKE Prime competition robot with 3D building instructions as a robot base.

One of the simplest tricks in the game - move, complete the mission and leave the attachment with the mission model. You don't have to return the attachment to the base. On some competitions there might be penalties, but it might be worth it, as you save time to complete another mission. This works especially well with large attachments..
